Wigilia
Śniegowe płatki wirują za szybą,
Kto się w nie wpatrzy, ten zobaczyć zdoła,
Jak śnieg się staje drzewem albo rybą,
Twarzą kobiety lub skrzydłem anioła.
Dziś w ciszy świerków rybia cisza będzie,
Ryba zaś ćwierknie, miauknie lub zaszczeka,
Wilk zaskowycze do wtóru kolędzie
I skowyt zabrzmi jak lament człowieka.
A my siądziemy do śnieżystych stołów
I porzucimy słowa nasze wilcze,
Będziemy mówić językiem aniołów
Albo milczeniem archaniołów milczeć.

I powtórzę za bohaterem serialu "Grey`s Anatomy": "W święta chcemy być z tymi, których kochamy".Jest taka kolęda unitariańska "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" napisana w 1849 roku przez Edmunda Hamiltona. Muzykę do niej zainspirowaną słowami tej kolędy skomponował Richard Storrs Willis dziesięć lat później. Bardzo podoba mi się wersja wykonywana przez Sixpense None The Richer, ze ścieżki dźwiękowej do serialu "Grey`s Anatomy":
